Think the game could easily have ended 9v9 with Pickford, Richy, Robertson all with straight reds and Mane two yellows (simulation and the trip on Mina) with a different ref.

Liverpool have known for so many years that the referees will allow them some bruising challenges in the opening minutes that would always be carded were it later in the game. Carragher and Gerrard did it every year but we were always far too nice to reciprocate. The referee didn't even have a word with van Dijk after the second challenge. I called it almost perfectly with this post below, just replace 10 with 45:

Everyone was saying that today. NBC in the States was so unabashedly biased towards Liverpool it was just so so aggravating. EVERY thing Liverpool did was "Magical" or "Silky" or "FANTASTIC" but nothing really got mentioned towards Everton other than "Pickford should be off" literally every 5th minute.
