No but Roma clearly don't want him back so it probably won't take much to make it permanent.

He should be made first-choice until the end of the season, that should give us all a proper look at him to see if he can be made our long-term no.1 or if a solid back up is all he can be. Pickford though has to go, he's just never going to be dependable.

I agree..... Id sign him and be happy with him to be No 1 in the short term. Sign another keeper in the summer to compete with him.
Pickford needs a new start elsewhere as much as we need to move him on.

If it weren't for the fact he's a Sunderland man I honestly think a move up to a club like Newcastle would suit him. There's pressure playing there but a different type of pressure, no one expects you to be world class just look like you're arsed about wearing the badge. They'd probably close ranks around him whenever he made one of his errors rather than throw their hands up, that I think would bring out his best form.

Shame it'll never happen. Maybe a move abroad would be the best thing for him.

Pickford has done well recently but made a bad mistake against Leicester.

I said last night I expected Pickford to play today and Olsen next game.

You have to manage the players not destroy their confidence and that is what dropping Pickford today would have done.
CA will have spoken to Pickford and told him privately his place is at risk.

He doesn't want to broadcast it to the world.
