2020/21 Robin Olsen

Not right if so, Olsen deserves a proper run. One goal at Old Trafford aside he's been fine.
He's conceded nine goals in three matches. Rightly or wrongly, the goalkeeper is the quarter back of the defence, the boss. If Pickford conceded nine in three - and in the manner of some of the goals Olsen has conceded - there would be calls for his head.

Olsen was very good against Leeds but immediately blotted his copy-book against United. He, basically, blew his chance to become number one. He followed up by conceding another four against Spurs, thanks to a disorganised defence that he is supposed to martial, and then another two at home to lowly Fulham. He has lost the right to the shirt for now.

But never fear. Jordan Pickford and calamity are frequent bedfellows. Olsen will get another chance...

Made a few more mistakes really if we are honest, came out to punch a ball v Fulham-didnt get it right, it dropped to a Fulham player who hit it over a empty net, v Leeds all those saves came from his kick out, error v man utd, nearly caught out when he came out the area when Vardy i think it was was running quick at him and mina [think it was mina] in away game,Plus the odd other thing, Like Pickford make's decent saves but Make's errors

Better than Pickford for me, at least at the moment.

He’s very unconvincing and would be a decent no. 2. But at least he isn’t making absolute howlers and does pull off some outstanding saves (as Pickford does from time to time).

Not much to choose between him and Pickford for me, the attraction of Olsen is that he would be a cheaper option than Pickford. That said, he is not good enough for first choice, so, any decision to sign him on a permanent deal would, for me, depend on us being able to offload Pickford and bringing a genuine number 1. Easier said than done, so, I guess we will be stuck with Pickford as a very expensive number 2 keeper should we decide to bring in a new first choice.

Only putting this here as he is a GK it's not a dig at Olsen but I genuinely think the quality of good goalkeepers has taken a nosedive. Seems it is more important for that one assist a season he may get kicking it than actually being a competent GK.
