I thnk that what happens partly on the field and what happens more on it may make this game a side show. For example, will Lescott feature, whether in playing time, or even on the bench?

Will the two Kyles come and watch us? A sure sign that we have them in the bag.

And of course, while it is an exercise, we will want to see how the team are playing. Will be interesting.

Joleon Lescott and Tim Cahill have been named in David Moyes' starting line-up to face Rochdale.

The pair reported back to Goodison earlier this week after extended breaks following their international involvement over the summer and will mark their return to the Club against the League Two outfit.

Lescott will play alongside first-teamers Leighton Baines and Tony Hibbert at the back, while youngster Shane Duffy completes the defence to make his second start in as many weeks.

Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini both return to midfield, with James Wallace - who also featured at Gigg Lane.

Last Friday's goalscorer Louis Saha links up with Jo in attack, with the Brazilian making his first start for the Blues since signing a season-long deal for the Club last week.

Iain Turner, who played the second 45 minutes of the Blues' opening pre-season friendly, replaces Carlo Nash in goal.
