He's a very good player at the peak of his career. There's too many good players going over there to make the possibility of someone of Costa's standing look unlikely. He's not the very best in the game. I can easily see him coming within the China League orbit of influence.

Remember when we bought him for £28m even pundits were astonished and even ridiculing us for paying that amount. Credit to Martinez for pushing the boat out to get him and taking what was considered a great risk at the time.

I don't think he will either, think it makes more sense for him to go next summer both financially and logistically.

This was alway going to be the trick. It needed to be last summer but maybe still not too late. You have to pull a big big name out of the bag. Its a statement. More to players than anything else. It says. Look we are serious about what we are mouthing on about. Good players in the squad go this is exciting and they have a good excuse to stay. Players outside go what happening over there at everton. It needs to be a world class player. But then you need to spend 70 million plus on one player esp if you want to attract him to a club in our current position. Then let walsh do his bizz with gana type players. 40/45 mill on van djke would be a good start. Move mori on for 10/15 mill. Then go for the biggie.

I wouldn't rule out Conte having interest in Lukaku with the comments he made. It would make sense for them to bring him in, but there are plenty of other players that they could target instead. It all depends on whether Conte thinks Lukaku is the right fit (if Costa leaves of course).
