Romelu Lukaku

At the end of the day he's hardly setting the world alight at utd. He's looking very much a limited player in what he can offer a team through the same limitations he had with us. He's a goalscorer and when he isn't scoring goals he struggles to be involved in the game and the last few games he's been directly responsible for utd dropping points.

90 million for him was good business if we had replaced him. Anyone saying we wouldn't be better off with him leading the line instead of dcl is deluding themselves. We are still in the market for a striker so we will have a better idea of how much we miss him when we get someone in.

As I've said above, the point that we're 3 points behind where we were last season was a pretty poor one when you look at our form up to this point. Even if we sign a good replacement in January and Sam continues to scrape points consistently, we'll do well to get anywhere near the points total, let alone the performances we put in in the second half of last season.

It also fails to note both Allardyce's firefighting as well as Rooney's contribution. He's on course for 20 goals this season, almost all from midfield and is the kind of player a striker like Lukaku would work well with. On what planet would we not be far better off than we are now with Lukaku in front of him, guaranteeing a further 20-odd goals?

What's the next level for us? Second and the knockout stages of the CL?
Next level for us at the minute is 8th place finish, half decent cup run and early exit from league cup

Put him back into my dream team.
Absolute standard he gets knocked out in a game against gash opposition that he would run riot in.
