Romelu Lukaku

Got bored during the stoppages. Offside for the goal.

Isn't part of his body onside?

Does anyone think they should have swerved Lukaku and built around Rashford? Lad looks like he can be a star but he's no left forward. Surely they would have been better spunking the 75-95 million on a defender and someone to play left wing/forward.

Edit: forgot they had Martial. So he's dropped to play Rashford out of position to accommodate Lukaku. Odd.
Rashford isn't ready to lead the line.

Missed a guilt edged 1 on 1 in the same game. Kid is not ready for that kind of pressure.

Martial is a left toward for both club and country.

Watched this last night.

Lukaku was exactly as expected. Scored a goal (tap in), missed an absolute sitter when the pressure was on having just conceded a 2nd, and got himself another defeat in a meaningful, pressured game.

I am sure he will score plenty of goals at Man Utd. Whether he will do any good is none of our business though, he is not an Everton player. Having said this, I won't wish him luck because he repeated gave disrespectful comment about EFC when/before he forced the move.

He had some nice touches especially early on that i thought were half decent. However a top striker (and i'm not sure 90 million classes you as a top one nowadays) would have got a hat trick, the match ball and won the match. (long as equally Real didn't actually score all their chances they didn't take)

He was playing in a game made for him, there was lots of space to run in behind. But still didn't command the game. He was unlucky that both Pogba and Rashford didn't make simple passes to give him excellent opportunities. We know he missed an absolute sitter, there were two headed chances that he should have really scored from, how can someone of that size be so rubbish in the air?

He was lucky he got another chance to score (a goal that should have been chalked off) else that would have really ramped up the pressure. Will be interesting to see if that helps his game but you'd imagine when teams sit back against utd (which most will) he will struggle.

Just relieved he's not ours to endure anymore - scored a tap in, missed a sitter, got caught offside like a 12 year old, showed complete lack of intelligence in his movement.

He will probably get 15 goals for United - mainly against the cannon fodder teams. What we seen last night was his inability to perform against the better teams.

Never took to him - scored some good goals for us and really he should be a very good player - but he wont be. Within a year he will be finding himself cutting a frustrated figure on and off the bench.

I feel sorry for the fans who say "he's the best player I've seen in a blue shirt" - it means they've either been watching Everton for 4 years or have no real understanding about football.

He was awful last night, scored a sitter by miscuing it and did nowt else. Typical lukaku performance unfortunately.

Yes, he will score 25 goals a season and always will be a leading goalscorer. He will appear a success on paper.

I spoke to a few United fans this morning in work and they all said how similar his performance last night was to his FA Cup semi farce in 2016.
They are worried he is a flat track bully.
I just smiled.

He'll get enough opportunities provided to him by the quality they posses and his own ability in front of goal, so to that degree he'll be a success.

On the other hand, he's now undoubtedly in the limelight due to his value combined with the profile of Manure domestically and in Europe et al.

No matter how good of a finisher he is, there'll be no where to hide his limitations which we all witnesses - he may not anticipate the response.
