Ronald Koeman discussion

The aim at the start of every season should be to win every competition we're in.

Realistic expectations are a very different thing. Realistic expectation for this season to be pushing for a European spot? Doesn't sound too outlandish to me

If you're expecting us to be challenging for top 4 this season then you're being unrealistic imo. As was said a few pages ago, context is important. Back to back bottom half finished followed by a champions league placed finish is a tall order

I haven't seen Dave slowed down by a single vault, even if he completely and utterly contradicts his past self in the most blatant way possible.

*nestles behind bushes

Shhh, now let's watch him weave.
I've given up and put him on ignore, didn't think I'd do that, I'll also have to see how the thread develops as I imagine it's not going to make much sense but let's see.

He makes excuses for the things he's done and is doing well to deflect credit and anything he has done wrong or is doing he pins it 100% on him. Basically he can't win

Is he really getting stick for not playing youth players whilst at Southampton now , mega lol and anyway Are Southampton better off with these youth players than they where with Ronnies team ? cos that's the main thing isn't it not playing youth players for the sake of it but to play players that improve the team.

That's all well and good, but I cant remember anyone demanding that.

You might see their youngsters with a winners medal at Wembley soon (I sincerely hope so because they'll have knocked out Liverpool and then beat United). You WONT see any of our younger players doing that this season though, that is for sure.

Bizarre.

I think you'll find it was you mate.

What has to stop here is some creeping tendency to drag down what is acceptable for a PL season. I detect over the past few weeks this numb nuts "Top Six" false ceiling has been created to try and excuse a season's failure to make a challenge. That has to be rejected and rebuffed at every turn. Our expectations cant go from top 4 to top 6/7 just because some wish to stretch out what's acceptable for a manager they have thrown their hand in with.

Why would you want Saitns to win a cup ahead of say United when it would mean we have less chance of qualifying for europe if that happened?

and why would you want any team below us in the pecking order getting a boost of winning a cup for mate?

Utterly strange

Have you found the stats which prove that Saints are playing more academy players than we are mate? Still waiting for that

So what?!

Very nonchalant for a supporter of a team that's won the square root of f.a. for 22 years.

So what? I'll tell you so what - I for one would chop a finger off to see Everton win a trophy again....one of FootLongHotDogs, obviously!
