Ronald Koeman discussion

think people over egg how good last season was, and I think the reason being we were so poor the season before, realistically with the squad we had last season we should have finished 7th and anything less would have been a major disappointment, I mean who out of the teams below us shouldnt we on paper be finishing above?

All originated on Twitter mate. So make of that what you will.

Considering everyone thinks he's such an ego maniac it's hard to see him walking away from like a £7m payout.[/QU
He has had that dreaded vote of confidence from our owner - so I would not rule anything out if we lose our next game I feel he will go and our away form is appalling - the old saying no smoke without fire springs to mind !

I think Martinezs first season was overrated. Very good until Christmas then he was found out a bit and had a good bit of luck to grind out some 1-0s. We were never actually close to 4th.
Instead the 3rd season he was very unlucky. They played well in the first half. Had a lot of awful decisions go against them and team morale clearly collapsed. He still got to 2 cup semis.
Koeman helped reorganise and focus them last year. Gaining predictable results and finishing in the predicted position whilst nowhere in the cups.

You know the feeling when your team is losing 4-0 with 20 minutes to go, you really hope to come back but you know in reality if you don't concede that's the best you can hope for. Well that's my feeling about Koeman as manager he's 4-0 down and everyone knows in reality he isn't coming back, but the difference is now I don't care if he concedes anymore as I know that will finish his time here.

Shocked that you want Everton to lose

What a world we live in

Mate, I've been watching us since the 60's. When you get to my age you tend to have longer term view. I dont 'want' Everton to lose. I'd love it if this could somehow be turned around but Koeman's clearly not going to do it. As others have noted, he's never looked like he wants to be here for anything other than the paycheck. If a couple of 'inevitable/acceptable' defeats mean we get rid of him sooner, rather than wasting months on end waiting for the inevitable (like we did with El Soft), then guess what? I'll take them with thanks.

Martinez's reign here started of well because he inherited Moyes's defence, after Moyes became a distant memory so did his defence and gradually it's got to where we are now.

Totally agree with this, it can clearly be seen Koeman as manager isn't going to ever work.

RM stuck with Timmy Howard and that was his downfall to give him a 3 year deal cost him his job as Timmy was past his best and he virtually threw winning positions away in RMs last season!

Agree with the twitter nonsense, but it does have a feel him leaving very very soon, either by walking or getting the bullet.. we have Brighton away which won't be easy (because we as a club don't do easy) then we have Lyon (EL) Arsenal (league) Chelsea (cup) an 'expected' defeat in them games could leave us in a right mess..

I make three of those games "expected" defeats.

We were very close to 4th.

We beat arsenal and took 4th, but lost our next game vs Palace which totally messed it up.
