Southampton striker Shane Long could be in trouble with the clubs fans after his latest comments on Ronald Koeman's move to Premier League rivals Everton.
Koeman was confirmed as the Everton boss yesterday after weeks of speculation was put to an end. The Dutchman has signed a three-year deal with the Toffees until June 2019 after guiding Southampton to a sixth place finish, meaning Europa League football. He was new owner Farhad Moshiri's main target.
However, Southampton forward Shane Long, who himself has been linked with a move to join up with Koeman at Everton, has angered some fans with his latest comments to The Mirror. "Obviously, it's disappointing to see him leave. Especially over the last six months, he has really stuck by me and played me week in, week out. I really got on with him and I learned a lot from him. But he obviously has an opportunity to progress in his career and I wish him all the best." Long was speaking ahead of the Republic of Ireland's huge Euro 2016 clash with Belgium on Saturday.

Dignified and classy from Koeman. I wonder about sports/public figures having an individual presence on social media platforms though, I'm sure he will receive a barrage of abuse in response to his tweet.
They have finished 6th for love of god you'd think they had just done the trebble the way they are banging on about it.
the only reason they finished 6th was because so many of the top teams had a terrible season.
West ham will finish abouve them so thats 7th. So will liverpool so thats 8th. Then chelsea, 9th. You would exspect us to finish in the top 9 next season. That puts them at 10th. thats not taking into account what the eruopa leauge takes out of a team. That could cost them at least another 2 places. So 12th would be my guess for them next season.
they are so deluded its embarrasing. At least liverpool fans have a reason to be deluded. Can't wait for the balance to be restored next season.
