Ronald Koeman discussion

Well Koeman has not been too successful with his coaching yet but IMO it's early days.

I am looking at his character features though to see how successful we are going to be with him in the longer term and though there are many good things I am seeing two signs of unhealthy stubborness in firstly refusing to consider the best of the youngsters (particularly when the experienced players have underperformed) and secondly stubbornly sticking with Stek in goal when we had Mosh wanting to splash the cash and a better goalkeeper in Hart desperate to come to us.

Neither of those are great signs IMO as I believe a great manager would have acted differently.

I think he might get us some success (6th or 7th within a season or two) but that he might not be what we need to go beyond that.

shots on target stat said it all. no clue in final third and yet again left it late to put a shift in. has koeman control of the dressing room?

I'm not overjoyed with Koeman so far but what can he possibly do to avoid Stekelenberg running 20 yards off his line?

He's inherited an aging clueless squad.

My only criticism is leaving Holgate out the team when he was excellent. Not starting Davies. And possibly starting with Cleveley today.

We are unfortunately in a race for 6th place.

His target is 6th-7th this season. Am happy with 6th this season.

This time next season. Give him the two more windows that's supposed to turn this for us according to some, and if he cant cut it with that shift him out.

Our last 10 games look like this:

LLDDLWLDLD

That cant carry on.

I have no idea how we set up or what he wants to achieve.

At first I found your anti-Koeman-ness a bit knee-jerk but all credit to you for this comment and giving him two windows which I agree is enough to assess whether he should continue or not.

Strange comments from Koeman there. We didn't deserve a point in my view. Man U weren't great but controlled the game fairly easily up until Fellaini gave away pen. We were horrendous today and Man U must be kicking themselves.

Tom Davies not being in the squad, but Tom Cleverley starting, says it all about Koeman at the moment.

That side is screaming out for an injection of energy and youth, but Koeman is incapable of pulling the trigger. If Bolasie and Coleman didn't get injured today, Holgate doesn't come on, Deulofeu isn't moved to the right and we lose that game.

As davek said, we got out of jail with the right subs made for him when he wouldn't have voluntarily made them, after yet another torrid performance from the usual suspects.

Its so obvious and the guy not only doesnt see it but tells the press that Holgate, Davies etc are only good enough to start in holland and not in the prem.

Holgate showed him up today...
