what is Koeman lacking that we need to play this hoof crap. he needs to adress this in january ffs. and he will.
Yeah hell bring in crouch and Heskey. he wasn't like this at Southampton so I don't see why he's employing these tactics now, he must have seen under Martinez we have players who can play good football and create chances. weird we have gone completely from one extreme to the other.

Wut ? You have little possession and thus have to work off the ball far more often which is the most tiring aspect of football. Unbelievably simple concept to grasp.

Long ball is one player hoofing it and if they are on target straight to that player thus not much energy. If not one player runs to the ball to try and get it

Passing meanwhile everyone in the team not just one player is jostling for position, making runs, moving with the ball at much higher tempos

If your just hoofing it that majority of the team is standing still

No offence mate but you do realise football is two way and you have to defend ? The less you have the ball the more you run... It's why teams who defend for 90 minutes are always shattered. The teams whose kept the ball has been able to dictate tempo and not had to chase the game.

Kinda amazed I'm having to type this. It's so obvious

The stats are there to see that a passing side uses more energy overall than a team that hoofs it forward
