Ronald koeman . New barca manager.

Has he fully recovered from his heart attack? Bit more stress involved with Barcelona than managing Holland.

Id give Pimienta the nudge, worked his way through the club has the ethos etc.

Sod’s law says he does amazing there

That club looks a bit of a basket case right now though

At a different time I’d back him to do an ok job (world class players, money, etc).

As they are now the club needs a reboot and they don’t have funds unless they can shift a few - so it’s a tall order.

It seems ridiculous to us they would consider him but he’s still a legend there and most Barca fans don’t even know what an Everton is. So his reputation is still in tact.

Won't last a season. The reason it went pear shaped for us was his dividing the club by picking the players he bought. He threw Niasse to the dogs - a horrible thing to do which must have divided the dressing room.

Being as Barca are already in crisis, with player power at the heart of it, I wouldn't be calling on Koeman.

They will bomb next year (by their standards)

You are blaming him for freezing out Niasse? What about all the other managers who did the same to varying degrees?

Of all the things to pin on him that is about the one that could be seen as a sensible move, try and shake everyone up if you're not good enough, you're out.

Christ, with Martinez getting the Belgium job and Koeman getting Holland and now Barcelona, what the hell is Marco Silva going to get???

Sticks a fiver on Marco Silva being the next president of the United States

I've just read on the BBC that Barcelona are in a financial mess with 700m euros of debt. The president must want to kill off the club by appointing this clown.

More likely, the better alternatives refused the position given the state of the club. I don't see how this group returns silverware next season, which combined with the board elections renders the job a caretaker appointment.

Koeman knows that and is either more interested in the paycheck or in the line on his resume than he is in finishing out the responsibility he took on through a postponed Euros. That says everything you need to know about him.

I hope they appoint Koeman.

Don't like them, don't like him.

They're having a dodgy time but they weathered the same kind of storm prior to Rijkaard coming in in the mid 00s and then had 15 years of pretty much total domination.
