Not convinced Koeman is the right man

Well his CV as a player and manager blows Roberto Martinez's out of the water.Ronald Koeman is a born winner and he the experience of managing in the premiership so there will be no need for an adaptation period.I quite confidently predict that we will qualify for the champions league within two years with this guy.If it wasn't for Mr Moshiri it would be either Martinez in charge again next season or perish the thought the second coming of David Moyes.

One thing about Koeman though; Roberto Martinez had better players at his disposal here than Koeman did at Southampton IMO, however, Martinez horrendously mismanaged his players whilst Koeman managed his superbly and finished above us twice in two years by a considerable points margin, no reason why he cannot recreate that kind of management here with our better players, possibly minus Lukaku - Do hope Stones stays as i want to see him grow and develop here under a manager who knows how to organise a defence. With that in mind, I do not understand the negativity around appointing Koeman, yes he is a safe option due to PL Experience etc, but the damage Kenwright and Martinez have done to this Clubs reputation is clear to see for those 'Next Level' Managers, we were never going to get them, Koeman is the Manager that could take us to the cusp of that next level whilst repairing the damage done by Martinez.

Not convinced Koeman is the right man but I'm not totally against it. After all he has done well so far

It's not often us Evertonians have days like this where we're in the news for positive reasons. People should just enjoy it. Even if you don't rate him that highly as a manager, just sit and think how big a name Ronald Koeman is in world football. This is a 2 time European Cup Winner, a match winner in a European Cup Final and the highest scoring defender of all time, with notable clubs being Barcelona. We just had Roberto Martinez as manager FFS. A man who forged his career as a player and manager at Wigan Athletic and ended up getting them relegated. Koeman has also had success as a Manager including league titles at different clubs in Holland, as well as a Cup win for Valencia.

For me, this is about as big as it's got off the pitch for Everton in the PL era.

Times are changing at this club and finally those of us under 30 who've seen the club get pushed around all our lives and produce failure after failure in big games, are now seeing for real what it means to support a club of our size. This is how things should be for a club like us. We all spent most of the past 2 seasons bigging up this squad and saying how we think with a few changes we could push for the top 4. Well if anything, we've strengthened and the only 2 players who are likely to still think about leaving are Lukaku and Stones. It wouldn't even surprise me to see both stay when Koeman gets to speak to both and they realise what Moshiri has in store for the club. Moshiri has completely changed the ambition of the club and I personally couldn't be happier at the moment with the way things are going.

He better sign now after i've typed all that out lol.

I think if the fans had never known we were talking to Mourinho, there wouldn't be anywhere near the negativity (not that there's a huge amount) surrounding Koeman's arrival.

This is a good appointment and it's one that immediately shows the wider football world that we're not the same proposition we were 6 months ago. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with his big budget. It's going to be a good summer for Everton.

Just don't announce it tomorrow. It's the anniversary of the date they appointed Roberto. (Easy to remember as it's my son's birthday)

Looks like Koeman is joining.
For all Martinez's failings and I cheered as load as anyone when he left, he got the club, it's history and everything Everton stands for he embraced.
Would hate to see any of this diluted with new ownership and manager.
No matter how poor our team etc we have always shown class and with our red neighbours compassion.
Long may this continue with our new manager and owner.

Or Cornwall in the 17th century - Everton the official Barbary pirates of the premiership
Absolutely. If Prevenger was here he could write a romantic epic about how every year they see sails on the horizon, one year a blue ship came took their village eoldorman.
Or something.
