Rooney sacked as Birmingham Manager

For his dim witted nature off the pitch he had an amazingly brilliant footballing brain on it.

Thought there was chance that he would be a decent manager but for whatever reason (probably personality) it isn't working out and probably never will. Maybe a drop right down the leagues and a change of attitude could work.

Obviously we don't know but i9t could be like the stories of Hoddle at Swindon, in training, especially when he was player/manager, he was 20 steps ahead of the other players and would look frustrated. When you have reached the top of the game as a player, I guess it is hard to come down to other players levels, when a manager.
In fairness to Hoddle he got Swindon to the premier league, I think you could say that Hoddle was a bit more articulate than Rooney.
Rooney will never make a good manager and should just take it easy and enjoy his retirement it's not like he needs the money. His problems will come when Coleen finally decides to dump him and walks away with half his bank balance.
I don't dislike Rooney he was manipulated as a kid by agents and Kenwright .

Agree with all of that.

The Hoddle comparison was more the fact that it is known that Hoddle looked/was frustrated, with a couple of the stories I have heard. He made it work, these top players, if they want to make it in management have to put their talent to one side and just see players for what they are, not necessarily as good as them.

I have also never really disliked Rooney, even straight after he left and also after he celebrated in front of us. I just saw a bit of a stupid kid. He matured a bit later on but has to dump the ego (assuming that is the main issue here), if he wants to make it as a manager.

Maybe go to being a coach at a top club, or an assistant, learn the trade from behind the scenes.

Feel sorry for the Birmingham fans in all of this. Team was doing alright then their ownership got a dose of the Moshiris and went for a 'Hollywood' manager with next to no experience.

When there is so much at stake you'd think all these owners would learn to appreciate experience and management ability over a few selfies with an ex player/superstar.

He did but he had Liam rosenior has his assistant then, who’s highly rated and at hull now maybe he was brains behind that decent spell after all,
Rooney spent very little time with the Derby squad, even choosing to travel to games alone rather than with the squad because he'd been drinking the night before.

Rosenior was the linchpin of that squad. He's came to Birmingham with a similar attitude and it fell apart, because he couldn't win the squad around.

Put it simply, he doesn't have the attributes to be a manager.

Yep, I've heard the same, he hardly does any coaching himself and rely on others

After the abuse Rooney got from us when he came back with United, I am surprised he just celebrated. I would have given a very large V after that at least. The abuse he got was disgusting. I was there for that first return and it was the worst I ever experienced at a game by far. Nobody has ever done anything to deserve that but the great blues supporters plumbed new depths that night.

Ill always like rooney just got a soft spot for him but hes not doin very well at managing is he
Not going to be the first high profile player who cant cut it as a manager. Guardiola Mourinho hardly set the world alight playing even Alex Ferguson was pretty average player
