Bit of an odd one. Was dropped deeper so he couldn't really influence the game much.

He did try to create but you could see the difference between him and fabregas for example in quality of passing.

Not enough time to really do anything though. They would have been better bringing giroud on and battering ram our centre halves instead

I always thought he’d naturally drop deeper with us eventually, dno why, looked woeful whenever he has though. Yeahh the bits I seen of the end of the second half looked like we were backs against the wall abit so I would of thought they would of went that route

Yesterday showed we he will never be a great player.

Barkley has all the talent in the world, power, pace, good shot, vision etc etc but his mentality is awful.

I don't subscribe to this Barkley being "thick" thing. It's such an easy accusation to make and one that people seem very keen to throw at scouse players for some reason. However you could tell as soon as he came on yesterday he was dying to impress, he was rushing passes, shooting from stupid positions and generally couldn't cope with what was going through his mind at the time.

Mentality is a massive part of football and it separates the good from the great. He will always be a decent top flight player but that's about it.

Inappropriate Language
I still don't understand how a boyhood blue who grew up with the club, the club that backed him when he had a double leg break at a CRUCIAL time in his development, got tattoos of that club removed. I get he may not be "happy" at some perceived insult Everton launched at him but to basically give up the club that, essentially, raised him?

That's why I think he's thick as sh*t.

Goodison will be interesting.....
I'm very much looking forward to it. Plus if our form continues to improve we could be playing for more than a mid table finish this year which amps it up more. He won't play though, he doesn't have the stones to do it.

He won't play (certainly not start) at Goodison.

Two reasons, really;

1. His mentality.
2. Chelsea will start with better players.
