Yes, I thought that as well. However, he has to trot some sort of platitude to the press. Heathrowgate was 18 years ago, but will always be there as potential muck to sling at him. Apropos of bugger all though, Barkley is a tit.
 
So he never turned into the next Lampard then like loads on here predicted?

He'll be back on loan in January. And to be honest, we could do with a player like him that can actually keep hold of the ball and pass it forwards. He's not brilliant, but he would moonwalk into this team ahead of Sigurdsson.

Lampard didn't rollick him. He said that he just needed to act a bit more professionally when off duty. He's not in the squad for Sevilla at a time when he is carrying a bit of a knock. ie Lampard made some platitude to mollify the press whilst giving a reprimand that carried no sting. Smart managing of his own position and Barkley.

I can see a Bournemouth or Southampton in the near future for him.

Won't happen, he'll see out his contract and go somewhere on a free
