Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

I'll take bets that he outlasts his new Manager at his new club as well...

Not long either ;)

That's like saying he outlasted Koeman here

I thought that when I typed it, it's why I added the bit about team mates !

I don't think Barkley will set the world alight at Chelsea. In fact, I'd be surprised if they didn't sell him on at a profit within the next couple of years, but it's early days for totally writing him off there just yet. Mind you, it's fun to do so.

My secret's out, just call me Di !

He doesn't have the mental toughness for the situation he now finds himself in

Something badly wrong at Chelsea - Conte throwing his toys out the pram and Barkley the convenient scapegoat.

The manager doesn't want to be there and wants the payoff, and the players have responded in kind with the performance they put in regularly for Mourinho.

Hahahaha. Gonna be another one of them, every time he plays poorly it's everyone else's fault. Rinse and repeat until retirement.

Could join Moist at West Ham then.

Wouldn't overly surprise me. Chelsea's transfer strategy is beyond flawed now though. They booted out their main technical director, by all accounts he wasn't liked particularly well by Chelsea fans who saw him as some kind of suppressor on Conte's transfer wishes but at the end of the day Chelsea hoovered up some of the best young talent in the world under his watch including those who Mourinho couldn't get going in Lukaku, Salah and De Bruyne. Now they have a woman running their transfer activity and I have no idea what her qualifications are but Chelsea's strategy seems to be truly scatter gun now. They got lucky with Giroud who was only available because Arsenal signed someone else. I'm convinced more than anything that Conte didn't want Barkley. I'm absolutely sure of that.

Barkley better hope Conte's replacement is a fan of his, otherwise his stay with the chavs could be a very short one.

why? what's he achieved without walking into a star studded squad and/or having a blank chequebook?

Come on mate, don't be silly

Conte's teams have all been a joy to watch. He mixes flair and defensive stability really well

Loved his Juve team, loved his Italy side and I think his Chelsea side last season were excellent on their day

He took an already great player in Kante and made him into this generations Makalele. Imagine what he could do with Gana?

We have a good squad for that 3-4-3 formation he likes as well

I think he's a superb manager

that's my point though, he walked into an all conquering juve side and carried on winning.
He took a quality italian national team and did well,
walked into a chelsea side with hazard etc and bought the previous title winners best player and spent a fortune.

if he came here he'd need to sort out the defense , midfield and attack with nowhere near the budgets he's had availalble, all without the lure of london and champions league, if he's throwing strops at chelsea imagine him here...

I'd be fully confident he could do it for us

I think he's a great manager and his tactics would work for us as well as they have at his other squads

He'd need a left back, but aside from that he'd have the tools here to make us competitive I reckon

If you put a goon amongst top players then he'll still contrive to lose
