I just see such a disappointing waste of talent when I think of Ross Barkley. He has far more ability than players who have had twice the career as him.

Not many players can score a goal like that one at Norwich where he turned onto his weaker left foot and smashed it like an arrow into the corner.

But his career at the top level is over. He hasn't done anything in years and has barely played. 1 goal in the league last year is such a waste of ability. Signing him now at this stage would be nothing more than desperation.

Was hugely talented think his mentality let him down thought his talent was always going to get him through his career plus wanting to go out and party. Our fans didn’t help with his development, even tho he was a rat the way he left us I’d still have him back if the wages wasn’t ridiculous would still offer a lot more than Tom Davies and would be happy with him being a squad player if we brought others in. I feel he has unfinished business with Everton.

I’m sorry but the fan stuff with Ross Barkley is an absolute myth. What is said on the internet and what occurs in matches are very different things.

Players read the internet. It effects them.
Can you imagine being twenty something and not interested in what people have wrote about you?

I seen it every week mate had 2 older guys sat a few rows in front of me would stand up and scream at Barkley from the first whistle, a lot of it uncalled for.

What I previously mentioned he thought his talent would take him to the next level and didn’t apply himself.

I see.

So the problem at Everton was the fans - despite his time at Everton getting him to be an England International and move to Chelsea.

But the problem at Chelsea/Villa and why he has been a flop since moving from Everton is because he didn't apply himself there?

Come off it.

Didn't Barkley leave because of some of the issues he had with some gang members and his girlfriend?

No, it's just a daft nonsense people peddle after this;

Never saw any of it, the odd groan everybody gets when he knocked the ball out of play or made a bad decision for sure.

Even when we all knew he was off people were still positive towards him at the game but that probably had something to do with him coming into a run of form.

Anyway, he’s a bad footballer, a bad character and won’t be anywhere near Everton Football Club again.

Nonsense.

What's the excuse for his time at Chelsea and Villa?
The crux of of the matter is that, for whatever reason, he hasn't been able to apply his clear and obviously talent onto the pitch - be that mentality or whatnot.

On the pitch, he would often make decisions that were simply the wrong ones: passing when he should shoot; shooting when a clear chance to run or pass.

Off the pitch, there's the whole way fiasco of how he left the club and everything else. It's the same reasons why he's regressed while at Chelsea and Villa.

Apart from sentiment, there is no reason why we should be considering him. He isn't good enough and doesn't look like he's got the attitude to change that.

You can't coach someone to make the right footballing decisions, and you can't coach someone to make the right decisions in life in general.
