It's probably just rehashed from statements AVB made while at Chelsea denying interest in Barkley

Andre Villas-Boas has played down reports Chelsea are interested in Everton teenager Ross Barkley.

Reports in Wednesday's papers suggested the former Premier League champions will make a £20million move for the midfielder in the January transfer window.

Barkley is the latest talent to step off the conveyor belt at Everton's famed School of Science, but David Moyes would be extremely reluctant to let their Academy graduate go.

He has represented England at every level from Under-16 up to Under-21, and has sizzled on his appearances for the Toffees this term .

Villas-Boas admitted he had been made aware Barkley was one of the rising stars of English football, but stated he was unaware of the full extent of his talent.

"People have told me he's a good young, British talent," said Villas-Boas.

"I really don't know the player."

How could you have all fell for that?

No wonder so many twitter accounts get so much traffic during the window, you're all gullible buggers.

I don't care who is interested - Everton should tell them where to go.
Because someone wants one of our players there is no real reason, unless we want to sell or need to, they should go.
But of course, player powers has its say

That 2004 report was of course complete b******s...Newcastle were the 'stalking horse' to get a bid out from United. Stretfords office was actually inside St James Park, (Stubbs was probably the office boy)

And Freddie Shepherd was one of Bill Kenwright's best friends in football (after Barrymore).

Kenwright, Stretford, Stubbs = The Dream team. If you need something selling quickly, and below market value, they're your men.

Not saying he should start or will, or infact there are not other options in the England squad but.....

If it was a straight fight between Wiltshire and Barkley at the moment starting this game tonight for England who'd you go for??
I think Barkley gets the nod. Think Wiltshire has been very average this season! Barkley on the other hand...

Wilshere is bang average.

He picks the ball up deep, strides forward a couple of yards, shows too much of the ball to the opposition, they take it with ease, he runs back to get it, clips his own ankle on theirs and falls over.
