The amount of messed up stuff people say to each other on here and people have a meltdown over casual use of a word which has long since stopped being used to describe disabled people and is now a general insult along the lines of calling something gay.

Seems like selective outrage to me but not arsed enough to get into an arguement about it.

Sorry you see it like that mate, but as the parent of a disabled child, I can tell you that it's a highly offensive word and there's no such thing as " casual " use of it.

Make of that what you will x

* I'd also like to say, that from via previous PM's with @widnesblue that he does some great work with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and I'm sure he didn't mean it to offend.

I appreciate that but likewise my mates brother is Down syndrome and he uses the term regularly because like quite a few others who doesn't associate the term as a slur on disabled people. Clearly to some people it's still very offensive but there are lots of people who don't view it this way. Generational differences perhaps.

Ok mate.

We'll have to agree to disagree x

So much for not being a selling club under Moshiri.
I'm not blaming Moshiri, sad truth is players want CL and we haven't been in a position to do so, we were never getting CL in the first season with moshiri, walsh, and koeman. too many changes needed in the squad. This summer will show how successful that group can be (or not)

Not, in any way, trying to downplay what you experience, but do people actually use it as a derogatory phrase still? Like said, I don't see 'thats gay' as an insult and my uncle was gay, I don't see it as being an offensive phrase. Apologies if I opened a can.
