it's potentially a risky strategy Pete. Remember Marselles in Pulp Fiction when Zed goosed him in the basement and Marselles (after being rescued by a katana wielding Butch) was going to deal to Zed by "getting in some hard pipe hitting homies with a blow torch and pliers" to get to work on Zed's sorry ass.
Anyway, all I'm saying is goosing the gangster is only ok if it's consensual.
Ha ha great memories from a great film

This arguement is somewhat flawed because Madrid didn't com in for any of these players you've mentioned

its an example, i could have used man u, man city, in fact quite a few clubs. In essence i am just trying to clarify that clubs can be ambitious but if a bigger team comes in, then hard to stop the player leaving.

From memory it was Bugsy Siegel. A contract was put out on him and he was murdered in LA I think. One of Lucky Luciano's crew

I think it was Vegas. Quite seriously(for a change!) I met the singer Andy Williams(now deceased) a few years ago, and he was actually in the night club were the shooting took place, as a 15 year old singer. Strangely enough, when the police arrived,no one had seen anything (I think AW refers to this in his book published a few years ago)

I know,I know,....I've not had a dull life...so far.;)

I love the way a hint of Bugsy Malone is creeping into this thread. Can't wait for the film. I reckon DeNiro as Koeman, Stallone as Ross, and Al Pacino as Aaron Lennon. ....

20 years ago you'd have been laughed out of this thread for suggesting the idea Stallone would be aloud on the same film set as De Niro and Pacino. But unfortunately today I can't fault your post. World's gone to hell.

A friend of mine with the club told me Ross has re-signed, 4 years, 150k/week. It'll be announced from Slovakia before the game. He's the same guy who told me about Garbutt and he has no reason to lie.

Hmmmmm.......

Friend of mine in LA did an acting workshop with Al Pacino. He's very tiny, apparently.

I thought Bugsy was kipping at his missus' gaff in Beverley Hills when he ate lead.
Andy Williams eh? I recall he used to have a variety show. I think Cookie Bear first appeared in it
