2017/18 Ross Barkley

TBF I'm pretty certain that Joyce did an article saying that Barkley wasn't happy with Koeman and I trust him. I'm interested in the mindset of Barkley or a fan who can/do get so upset by what Koeman has said. The wait for the quotes goes on, it must have been incredibly harsh.
There clearly is a personality clash but I doubt we will ever know precisely what has been said. I hoped, unlike many fellow posters, that Ross would leave for another club for a decent fee and we (Barkley included) could put this to bed. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened and whether Moshiri, the board, RonKo or Barkley think he has a future here I think there would be a fairly robust negative reaction if Barkley were to appear in any capacity at Goodison without having signed a deal first. So we are left paying someone £60K a week (or whatever large sum he is paid) for a player who, in my view anyway, can't be picked even after he recovers from his injury. Sad end, really.

I think eventually, something has to come out about it - whether Koeman gets annoyed with the situation or Barkley has to explain, like Koeman alluded to, say he's decided to stay or something.

However, Koeman's quote made it seem like Barkleys told him again he's leaving in January and that's that.

He put the ball in Ross' court in July when he came out and stated Ross said he wanted to leave.

Been about a month and a half since then and Barkley seems content to not bother explaining himself except where accusations he walked out of a medical at Chelsea are concerned.

RAT SNAKE JUDAS.

I took his comments yesterday (Koemi) as saying that Ross and him have had a decent chat and Ross explained the situation. There may be hope for us yet.

It is. I hoped that he would stay, but it's clear as day the deal is in place for Barkley to go to Spurs, why else was he in London last Thursday with his agent? It clearly wasn't to sign for Chelsea.

Levy was never going to get into a auction with Chelsea over a player who won't be fit until Christmas, he's been told to sit it out and that in turn has cost us potentially £20m. Which IMO makes him worse than Barmby.

But the whole story has been over Koemans public criticism, I'm still very interested to see what Ross' little sweetheart and some fans have been so awfully offended over.

I doubt the quotes will ever come out, which in a way is a victory for Koeman.

I suppose if Barkley does leave (which I agree is a practical certainty) then he might have a moan at Koeman in the press. Even then we would only get one side because I doubt Koeman will be arsed to reply.

Barkley has screwed us over so we get nothing for him and him and his agent get huge pay days :-( let him rot for the year and destroy his chance of world cup and not use him for the season :-) he stabbed us in back and people trying to blame the club or koeman are wrong , Barkley and his agent are scum

Will Ross stay?

I doubt it.

It is not impossible, though.

Who among us would have thought Niasse would be back in the fold?

What I hate most about this is sense of entitlement the bugger is displaying.

He literally lost us £35 million the other day, we may or may not recoup about half of that in January.

But he says he will wait "until he regains full fitness before looking at his options in January".

Off to Spurs, he means.

But he just expects Everton to work on his injuries and restore him to "full fitness" at the cost of around £20 million + whatever we pay him in wages these next four or five months.

This guy is setting himself up as the biggest bogeyman we have ever seen at The Park.

Goodison will be toxic if he ever gets on the pitch for Spurs against us.

I had this ready to go on deadline day, for those old enough to remember ?.
