2017/18 Ross Barkley

Probably the only 10 who could play with another 10. I would put him between someone like Sigi and the striker (any of Sandro/Niasse/DCL). Supported by Coleman/Bolasie and Vlasic down the sides we would have quite a good attacking unit I think.
Shame they're crocked.
It is mate. But thats where we are right now and we need to find a way to play (and win) without them. They'll be missing for a good amount of games more yet.
On the positive side, I agree with you. Good options when they're back and up to speed.

Unfortunately Ross is devoid of defensive instinct. Ross has a different speed for running backwards to running forwards. That being said I would of loved for him to have signed the new contract so the Gilfi money could have been spent elsewhere
And at this moment in time, we could have spent the Klassen money somewhere else too. Alas though Ross doesn't want to be here anymore regardless. I'm blocking him out at the moment.

Ross can still do one. He's not the answer to our problems, we needs a leader or at least a player with fight and determination right now. Ross is neither, he's a gutless little mouse and we've got enough of them currently in the side but at least they didn't shaft their boyhood club out of thirty million.

Thanks for reminding me! This is the bit I hated about the whole saga. Always liked the lad, the player and his ability (potential etc). Was and still am resigned to him going. But what happened at the end of that transfer window was a bit poor from a 'boyhood blue'.

The only hole he would have ripped on Thursday night is one on his hamstring

I agree but if he was fit, would you of played him? Would he of been a better option?
Excluding his judas behaviour*

I wish we could somehow get him back committed to the club and to sign once he is healthy. With all the money wasted on other lesser 10s, we'd have saved a bundle by just paying Ross whatever it took to get him to sign.

If anything this season has shown how well he did in that role for us. Yes, he had his bad days but it's not hard to see why given what we're looking at right now.

He’s been pretty decent - the standard of a top 10 no10 for a few years - would have gone better
If we have to lose him at least we have Davies - he’s the real deal already
