He turned down Chelsea, in this modern day of age with mercenary footballers all chasing the highest wage etc. He is thinking about his career first not money, he should be applauded for this.

Fair play to Diamond for playing the long game by turning down Chelsea and wait for Spurs.
I think he's eyeing a successful few years there then to Real Madrid, following Bale's career trajectory. I should be pissed off with him for screwing us out of a decent fee (even though it's small change to us now) but I can't. I just can't. He'll always be our Diamond and fully expect a Rooney-like return to play out his career with us when he's won it all.
