It's our window of opportunity Joey. We have rolled the dice to get a team who will deliver us champions league in the very near future. We can't rely on potential getting us there and we must take the financial hit of proven talent.
the top six have not let many young assets go have they unless it very big money - they look to strengthen their squads with class not the likes of third choice right backs from a club below us!
Our youth set up has shown we have great youth players in position as DCL proved last night - lets see if this master plan works?????????????
Ross is a young talent my argument why was this not sorted last year ???????????????

What fantasy clear cut chances are these? They didnt have a sniff of goal all day yesterday.

Pickford could have napped.

They had a few at Goodison, less yesterday but still nearly scored at the far post with a cross come shot.

But in the first leg in particular they should have scored two, arguably three.

Will one of these interested massive clubs have made a bid for him by then?
perhaps we know he going sadly, but the Sig will come first and a deal will be done with the clubs who bid the most, and where Ross wants to go - remember newcastle offering us a better deal for Rooney but he chose his club he wanted to go to!

Not a fan of Cuco but I will respect Koeman's call in bringing him in. I would prefer if Kenny had been given the nod but maybe he just isn't ready for first team now?

Agree re Ross being a talent but not so sure he has the work ethic to go with it. Perhaps he feels he is the unique talent that Martinez declared him to be and as such doesn't need to to get involved in the dirty work to get the ball back?

Who really knows though Joey? Ross' decision to leave could be as much down to off field issues as they are to togger. Doesn't change the fact that he doesn't want to play here anymore though.

I agree with all that , but why did we let him take his contract to the last year was this alleged personal stuff on the scene then perhaps hoping it may go away? - I hope he is happy with the team he chooses , but miffed we have lost him in a way the clubs silence has been deafening, and he will be undersold!

Impossible to know when his contract extension was offered to him and if that offer was revised over the last 18 months etc. The club could well have felt like us and believed he was living the dream here at his boyhood club. The rumour mill suggests he was offered £100k per week and if true that was a more than fair offer, particularly given his inconsistency.

To be honest Joey, I don't care if he is happy in his new career or not. He was offered a new deal by his club at a time when they are finally on the up. He could very well have been the poster boy for our move to Bramley Moore but he has chosen to decline that opportunity.

Time for us to move on.

Because we/the board probably assumed that if they give him a better deal he'd pick us and sort his issues, being a blue and all, but he turned out to be a tit.

cost us nothing have a think about that - thats a poor statement!
and ideology so if Tom Davies gets snapped up cheap to Chelsea who are sniffing around you would be happy with that?????????????????????????

It's called a factual statement Joey lad, I know you struggle to decipher between facts and subjective opinion though ;)

No idea what young Tom has to do with it like.

the distinction between justified belief and opinion falls within the ambit of epistemology (i.e. the theory of knowledge)

I suspect Ross might not be too familiar with the theory

He's overvalued himself. Poor lad. Brilliant, yes. Consistent, no. That's the problem - if he was making an impact in most games he played, he could command the wages he's reportedly asking. But he's not and he can't. Sad to see him jibbed off to the likes of Toon but maybe the best place for him - his inconsistency will not let him challenge for a spot at Spurs, he'll rot as a squad player at Chelsea.

Regardless, he's moved on in his own head, get the best fee possible and jib him off.

Get on the ship or get off - it's going somewhere fun, foolish to jump off now. Vaya con Dios, amigo.
