Belgium look terrible.

Proper Martinez school of defending here. They have no clue what to do out wide. Japan keep getting the ball in the middle with Kagawa and Inui moving everywhere behind Witsel.

Still think they'll comfortably win this once they get the first goal.... But yeah the appointment of Martinez has always baffled me, particularly when this is the best generation of footballers Belgium have ever had, shame the Belgium FA didn't appoint a proper manager

Tremendous first half performance from Japan, I did say they would be no pushovers. Belgium are trying too hard to walk the ball in, leaving them badly exposed at the back, the Japanese players just need to push a bit more on that front and they could well spring a shock

Would love to go if they could move it a bit closer.

I’ve wanted to go to Tokyo since I were a lad. I’ve planned to go to the Japanese GP a few times, but the circuit is in the middle of nowhere and it’s in October, when the Jap weather isn’t great. I’ll get there some day.

Mr. Sparkle.

No joke- if Japan were a bit more prolific in front of goal, I could see them winning the tournament. They are one of the least clinical sides left though, so they will barely get much further if they manage an upset here

So, a collection of gifted footballers against a collection of well drilled and organised limited footballers.

Your big 15 minutes of half time are now Martinez. Now, or never.

Japan 3 Belgium 1 and him sacked afterwards, then?
