Feel like every time a goalie is beat at the near post they always get criticised but if he managed to save that he’d have to have been positioned in a way that left half of the goal wide open to hit at for the striker

Think he is also worried about the Messi comparisons - likely the last chance both will play in a major tournament for their countries and tbf Messi is playing pretty well and clearly appreciated by his own team.

Think there are two things he wants from this World Cup if he can’t win it. Finish with more total WC goals than Messi and to at least level with Eusebio as Portugal’s top WC scorer

The ideal would be for Portugal to lose 2-1 and for titty lip Ronny to be thrown on and miss a big chance. His post match sulk / implosion would be for the ages.

Magnificent player down the years and obviously a bit of a wonder in that he's still playing at a high level. But he's hard to love and he's rapidly making himself unpopular. Time catches up with us all Ronny, you've got to accept it.

I sort of want him to start. They probably aren’t as good with him so less chance of winning it (which is admittedly not huge either way). The idea of him coming off the bench in the final to score the winner makes me feel a bit sick regardless of how unlikely it is
