Don't hate but I want Liverpool to beat Basel and qualify. That way they can't mess up our EL run.

They'll go through and go out and we'll keep European football on Merseyside.

Not really sure on this scenario mate, Basle could give us a harder game if we drew them.

I'd fancy our chances against Basel. I've only seen us beat Liverpool 4 times in my life, I couldn't take the stress of drawing them.

I completely forgot about that. Was that a CL game they were in or the same competition as us?

Feel sure they had one game reversed to 2nd leg at home - possibly in their run to the Europa Semis a few years back - it might have been the opponents having a local rival in the competition but it's happened - not forgetting all the Fairs Cups we missed.

In the round we played Sporting and had to play 6 pm because they were also drawn at home that didn't help us a great deal..

Let the Spanish, Dutch and Turkish teams knock each other out, along with the CL dropouts, and we'll then finish off whoever's left standing.

Pot 2 is the 12 group runners up, joined by the other 4 3rd placed CL teams.

Pot 1 teams play Pot 2 teams.

We will be in pot 1. We cannot draw another English team at the Round of 32 stage (or Wolfsburg from the current group). The teams we could draw, as things stand are:

From a travel aspect we don't want Trabzonspor. No direct flights, change at Istanbul and another hour up to the black sea. nightmare

Wouldn't mind Ajax. Amsterdam is a great away day, very cheap, and Ajax are the lowest ranked CL team likely to drop down, only got 2 points in their group.

Would obviously prefer a 2nd placed Europa team though.
