What absolute [Poor language removed] Ghost, you select your media, society is something you live in. You have been sparring for a thread of this type for a while, why not just open one, this was a jolly little thread about a comic which you have turned into the good old racial debate, can it,

Oh chill out, you are constantly looking for a battle with me, and I'm starting to feel like I am trading on egg shells whenever I participate in a thread with you.

We are talking about Chubby Brown, and Chubby Brown tells risque jokes, some of which are racist, sexist, etc....

How many threads on this forum skew off into something else? Are they all my fault?

As for society/media. I live in a world, and I work in a world where globalisation has taken over. Its not like it was in your day when there were 2 channels and the wireless. There is Internet, which has every form of media on it. There is tv, newspapers, magazines, word of mouth in the street or pub. You can see it on the terraces, or if your a soldier you see it on the battlefield.

You tell me how you can filter out certain aspects of society in the media?

Go back Nick, I don't want an argument with you so why bring up racial matters in this thread, it seems to me that it is you who is pressing the issue. I suggested that you open a thread on it, it has little to do with this thread at all which is light hearted to most of us.

Let's not bring them into it, because if you did, 95% would tell you a different story than the media reports. Just like I would if asked.

Whatever pal, I made an observation of an incident at a Chubby Brown concert. Which I'm sure this thread is about. Yeah, Roy 'Chubby' Brown. Says so up there.

But its ok, I won't argue with you anymore, wouldn't want to alienate myself anymore than I already am.

I was joining in. I made an observation and all of a sudden I am leading the Munich Putsch.

In actual face, this thread is a mirror of how we are allowed to be in the public eye.

I'm not saying we should go around with flaming crosses, but we are not allowed to talk about certain things.

But lets leave it at that. I think Chubby Brown harbours racial ideas, and I think quite a high proportion of this nation agree with him, they just don't feel it appropriate to think that way.

So Chubby Brown. When you take out the blue jokes and the racial quips, not much else to him really.

The two video's that i've got of Chubby are just 'blue', i ain't viewed them for years so cant really say if they have any racist 'humour' in them, from what i remember of them i dont think it was offensive on that score.
I like Chubby for his 'blue' material, i just think he's [Poor language removed] hilarious, as for what he comes out with in his 'live' shows i wouldn't know.
Threads can go off-topic quite quickly like Ghost said but this was never meant to be a serious thread about Terrorism or Muslim's or the IRA.
A subject as serious as that demand's it's own thread because it does not sit comfortably between posts about Bob Monkhouse, Bobby Davro, the Krankie's and the like.
Lot's of threads go off-topic like i said but when it completely takes over from it's intended subject then maybe it's better to start a new thread elsewhere.
