FRom the Guardian : Our man in the north-west, Andy Hunter, reports that "Everton are pushing ahead with the signing of Royston Drenthe from Real Madrid despite Mikel Arteta's move to Arsenal falling through."

Their loss. They could have got him for £14m and he's exactly what they need right now. Adequate replacement for Fabregas and has plenty of prem experience. Their fans were all made up when it was on SSN, but now they will settle on Benayoun which wont appease the fans at all.

They have put themselves in a position where they in a desperate need to sign players at this late stage so they cant expect teams to give them their top players on the cheap.

Wenger is a fool, but i'll be glad if we get to keep arteta

I love how so far we've not actually had confirmation of anyone coming or going. DM is probably playing golf in Paraguay blissfully unaware.
 
As I said before, The lad's got some issues. If he's still got his head up his arse, he'll cause the biggest fume fest since shandy Andy didn't play for us. If he's sorted his head out we'll get the buzz back at Goodison coz he could be a tremendous player.

Yup.

He was highly rated, is a massive attacking threat, you dont go to Real if you're gash...

But he's a blert.

Blerts dont rub Moyes up well. The minute he's not tracking back...Moyes will bench him for 5 games.

Maybe. I cant see how we'll be able to keep a player on £75k a week.

If Arsenal would have come in with the right money (£12-15m) it would have been a good deal for all, as we'd have got much needed money for our top earner who is approaching 30, and they would have got an adequate experienced replacement for fabregas at less than half the price.
