in memoriam - 1965-2024
On Sky Arts atm. Gig from 2012.

You either know/like them or you dont. I love them, but havnt played a record of theirs for ever. Saw them several times at their peak, (Moving Pictures/Perm Waves), and they still sound ace.

Shame Neil Peart is no longer with us, and the guitarist, Alex Liveson looks a bit like Boris Johnson.
@Old Blue 2

Float you boat mate?

Only listened to a couple of live clips. Enjoyed what I heard.

Lifeson looks rather like the late Terry Kath of Chicago also.

Moving Pictures is a fantastic album- personal favourite is probably Red Barchetta. Every song is really good on there. No filler at all.

The spirit of radio is probably my favourite track of theirs.

Have to admit I only really know the name because David Bottrill produced some of their stuff. Where should I start?

Edit - looks like he only remixed after checking Wikipedia.

Rick Beato goes on about them too though, so they must have substance...

There is a cracking clip on you tube (11 mins) of what is possibly the best intro ever. mainly Peart, but excellent spoofing of other tracks before launching into Spirit of radio. well worth a look/listen, needs to be loud tho'

Bought 2112 on LP, played it once and never bothered with them after that

For prog rock stuff, one of my fave albums is Script for a Jesters Tear by Marillion
