but then some would have tried to argue he wasn't match fit and needed a few games, then he could have offered something. When he signed, I didn't think it was a dreadful appointment, he was relatively cheap, offered backup and I recalled him at least being semi useful in his prime. What we saw though was a washed up flump who was way overplayed by an obstinate oaf of a manager. Once it was clear he was finished, the kids should have been thrown in.
