can you imagine how exhausting it must be to be up front on your own against 3 centre backs, having played three games in a week (your first games in four months)
Fair point but wouldn't that have been the time to replace him? He was still on the pitch at the end. It's all academic anyway, we got the points which was the main thing.

Fella needs minutes under his belt providing we were winning I see no problem with keeping him on the pitch.

Three games this week would have done wonders for him. Still be a few weeks away from being back at usual levels but another run out against Utd and you should start seeing bits of improvement.

Its the same as Godfrey - lad getting outpaced and out muscled when last season he was first to everything - fitness levels are everything in the PL its why we have been so crap with slow, weak players like Siggurdsson, James and Gomes filling our midfield every week.

It was a panic signing and I would prefer not to be calling a player back up, ideally you want said back up to be providing competition for his place to keep them on their toes. No good for us if DCL thinks he's un-droppable, he needs pushing to keep his levels up.
it wasn't a panic signing. Benitez was always going to sign him. And i've no doubt Rondon will be played from the start if Richi or DCL hit a bad patch

So it looks like Rondon will be properly fit and up to speed about the time DCL comes back in. Not arguing, or saying it's anyone's fault, but it's irritatingly ironic.
