I just don't think many players go to China because they are at the top of their game and want a new challenge in a top league. I think it is (or was) a combination of silly money and winding down.

Trying to think of any who came back to a decent European league and were a force. So why on earth anyone expected a player who was mediocre to be any good is a mystery.

Oh, that's right, most of us didn't. But we signed him anyway.

A sorry, sorry, sight to see last night... thinking back to when he first arrived and those scoreless, bloated, soaking wet through performances where it was clear he was at least a stone overweight and had as much get up and go as a suicidal 115 year old sat in a wheelchair outside Dignitas. The saddest, sorriest part of all when he unfolds himself from the pockets of 2 league one centre backs is that last night, was actually one of his better games.
