It was only ever a short term contract that was offered as Moshiri's main targets weren't available - Martin O'Neill turned the same short term contract down (widely reported in the Irish media as the reason he was stalling on signing a new contract with Ireland) before we went back to Allardyce.
Believing the media is always a mistake. Allardyce knew he had us over a barrel simply because he knew he was the only taker.

Oi Messi stop messing about going round 5 players and chipping the keeper, we play defensive football, u never EVER cross the half way line
So so wrong. He's too small and doesn't maintain shape in a row of 4 and he doesn't track back enough to even get on the pitch under Big Scam. Loan him off senior Walsho, he's garbage.

Of course since you aren't a member of Evertons board or office staff, you cannot assert with any confidence that no- one applied you are just assuming with no evidence whatsoever.
I think it's fair to say most of us could name at least five better managers who were out of work when he was appointed so it's not that much of a stretch to realise nobody decent was interested And as funny as it might sound a friend of mine is a member of the coaching staff, but I haven't and wouldn't ask him anything about how he got his job.
