Based on what? Lookman has looked good whenever he has played. Vlasic has looked good. Klaassen struggled but hasn't had a chance since September.

To say they're not good enough is complete guess work. I'd rather see any of them than watch Bolasie roll the ball under his foot 3 time before running into the defender or watch "born winner" Wayne pass to the opposition every game.
Hate them or hate them there is a coaching staff with years of experience watching and working with good players there must be something in training sessions they aren't seeing.

Good enough for the fans is challenging for 6th, accepting 7th if the Euro spot happens to fall down there.

Good enough for the board is 17th and above, good enough to retain those TV deal payments.

= we're ending up with Allardyce for at least another year.

Would bet my house on it if I had one.

As fans we are under greater pressure because of the success of our neighbours this season, but we have to disregard that and look objectively at what Everton needs to do going forward.

I want to know what the grand plan is over the next 5 years. Sacking Allyrdyce and replacing him with Silva or Fonseca is not making a statement... it is about accepting that we cannot attract better names and instead we take a risk and hope it works out well.

Whoever comes in has a job to build a team they want. Hopefully they will find the more of the players currently at the club suits their needs than many of us expect, but it is a medium to long term project.
I think we may have to accept also that most of the young players that have come through into the team will be moved on and we know that lots of money has to be spent in building this team and accept also that more money will still be wasted, it is the nature of things.

I want a manager full of pent up anger and energy prowling the sideline like a caged lion. I want a manager celebrating goals and furious over missed chances and goals conceded.
Ideally I would like Emery, if my fairy godmother were to grant me a wish it would be Simeone or Allegri but I think that Emery may just be a possibility whereas the others are not.

I know that for some getting rid of Sam is enough, for me I don't see the point unless the next appointment has me immediately looking forward to the transfer window, pre season and the first game of next season with excitement and expectation.

I think that if Sam stays next season we will finish somewhere between seventh and ninth. We will be solid, hard to beat but not be a threat to those above us.
If it isn't Allardyce it'll be Silva,we just aren't a big enough draw however much money we offer.

Allardyce has either met or surpassed pretty much my expectations when we made him manager. In fairness the one area where I have been surprised is in the players purchased. whoever was behind buying the players, both Tosun and Walcott have been good buys in my opinion, in so far as they are better than the players that we had in situ, and have improved team performance.

However my expectations of Allardyce are that he will still buy players to suit his safety first ideology, and that means tried and tested, most probably with experience of fighting relegation battles. It will be out with the young and in with the old. If he is still here we will definitely see Lookman leave, and most likely the likes of Vlasic, Holgate and possibly Dowell too. At the end of his stint (assuming he stays the full 12 month term which I very much doubt) we will have a very old squad of high earners that we are going to find very hard to move on, and we will have lost some of the best young players in the country. We will also no longer be an attractive proposition to other highly rated young players.

That is the lasting damage I expect from him because it is exactly what he's done at other clubs he's "saved from relegation". When he came, many argued that he would be different here. Well he hasn't shown it so far and I don't expect him to either.
I think that is fair comment, but if Brands does come in then I think he may have a big say in recruitment.
I think that Sam is seen at most as a manager for one more season(if that) then I think Moshiri will be slow to spend huge amounts on players that Sam alone wants.
I think Brands arriving may actually make it easier to keep Sam for another season as it gives Brands time to settle in and assess the players as well as find a longer term manager.

I think we may find that very few of the academy/ young players actually become long term regulars in a good Everton team.

That isn't true.

It's the project that is sold that will attract the manager. If what is on offer was sufficiently large( pay and transfer budget) there would be no manager out of our reach.
To be fair to Moshiri he was able to get a deeply entrenched Koeman out of Southampton and was prepared to pay the price.

I hope he has learned that for the money he is reported to be making available there are very good successful managers that will be interested.

The question is if we are really aiming big or talking about aiming big.

But Koeman?

was doing a fantastic job at Southampton and had the season gone on for 3-4 more games they would have made the CL.
Bad signings have cost us because as normal we have unqualified people in positions of power
He does about the same everywhere he goes but it doesn't last (see his second season here)

He came in and his done exactly what I expected, not sure why everyone is surprised?

He was originally offered an end of season contract, he wanted an additional year.

Club got desperate and gave it him - he's kept us up - awful football but at least we don't need to worry about a relegation dog fight.

I can see him going but ONLY if we have a decent replacement lined up - the club won't just sack him like with Koeman.
