Dutch football seems to be outdated though they do the possession thing well but it's too slow for this era of high pressing and fast attacking. It was once at the forefront with Cryuff at Barca but it got revolutionised by Pep later on then taken further by the Germans.

That's just not true mate. Since when has LVG's style been hoofing long to one isolated forward while the remaining 10 are behind the ball. LVG comes from the Ajax school of total football. They couldn't be further apart in style.

5 years ago I would have agreed
Now Koeman and LVG at Man U make me wonder if it’s possible to recreate Dutch football with a mix of players in a m short space of time - or looks like it was more a long term thing which linked to how the players were brought up in their youth systems and not just a style you could put on a team over a summer pre season

I do think there are managers who can effect an instant transformatuon but can’t see any available now

I think it’s more like three different styles
Dutch
BarcAjax
German = high tempo and aggressive version of Dutch

Plus Pep style is like BarcAjax taken to the next level

Saying that at least it's an identity I'd take Brands/LVG over Fat head, although I'd prefer a younger hungrier manager because it could be a three to five year project.

Yeah at least it’s a style - agreed I’m not sure how LVG would do in a difficult challenge like ours
(Understatement that!)

Ok according to Sky, there sources in Holland say he been given a international job, probably Italy... he’s also 66, now I’m not against older manager but is he really gonna have the hunger for us? We arnt title challengers

Watched him a lot when he was at United and he was awful. His main focus of attack was hoofing the ball up to fellaini.

Regardless of where his roots may be I'm judging him from his time spent in the league we play in, after spending 100's of millions and only being able to achieve scraping a 4th place in the league by playing boring hoof football. Went 6 months were man u hadn't scored a first half goal at old Trafford. As well as getting absolutely destroyed at home by the likes of stoke and Bournemouth were a common sight. And the top 6 weren't as strong as they are now.

Just get this one out.

Edit. Pardon the ignorance, but when you are considering relieving a Manager of his duties, would not the Board Meeting come before the private meeting with the Manager?

Why ?
Surely they would meet first to make sure they were all alligned in what they wanted to hear ....then meet again afterwards ... conclusions next steps

Not sure Brands style at PSV is particularly focused on possession. They don’t have high numbers, but they’ve won the league consistently.
