Keeps getting points on the board against the sides we'd expect to. It's only Bournemouth that we've lost unexpectedly to since he's been in charge. That win moves us up to 9th position in the form table since his arrival with 16 points gained from 33 available (48%). That's a significant increase from the points taken up to the point he came in which saw us sat 4 places lower with just 15 points from 42 (36%), having played 3 extra matches at that point. It's also more points than Arsenal have gained in that time.

When Moshiri made his final decision on the appointment before the West Ham game, we were sat 2 points above the drop in 17th place. After the West Ham game when he officially took over we were 13th and only 5 points above the relegation places. We are now in 9th, 8 points ahead of the relegation zone so that looks like clear progress to me. He's brought in Walcott who already looks a positive signing and has addressed the Striker situation with Tosun.

It's looking like a sensible decision from Moshiri to bring him in to steady the ship in the short term. Not convinced about him staying longer than this season though.

£6m a year for someone to beat the teams we expect to beat

Good lord our fan base has fallen to new lows

Im very happy with the win. It's puts us 9 points clear of the relegation zone. The win also brings both Leicester and Burnley, back into our sights. So the fight for the 7th place trophy is on!We need to try and finish the season strongly. After this whole circus of a season, 7th place would be acceptable enough. But while Everton winning and Everton progressing, is what we all want to see happen.I still want Allardyce gone when the seasons over.

Name the credible options who should have been appointed ahead of him then?

He's not an ideal long term replacement, but the facts show that we were in deep trouble when he arrived and now we're in a far healthier position which is why Moshiri chose him with limited options at the time.

Some in our fanbase like to sugar coat how poor we were around the time he was appointed but the reality was much different. We were shambolic and the results and league position proved it.

Mmmm we’ve improved 3 points since he arrive, those the facts fam. We also recorded a new record of failing to register a shot on goal

And considering he’s paid more than Zidane, Simeone and Emery I’m confident we could have attracted a wee bit better.

But good old PE Steve got his way and his man on board
