Same bunch of players to have failed for England before

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Players don't go abroad because if they do they're out of contention for England.

See Scott Carson, who's playing in a top European League and is behind Chesterfield town's goalie in the England ranks. Or Gary Hooper or Scott Sutter or Michael Mancienne.

Things
------
Chesterfield Town isn't a team.
I probably would have picked Gary Hooper, but that's just me and I know lots disagree.
And most importantly,
Are you telling me that if a English player was playing for Milan, Barca, Real Madrid etc... they wouldn't get in the England team? Im fairly sure they would.

Mancienne is an exception. I have no idea why he went to Germany. He's hardly played after a terrible start there.

And Scott Sutter is Swiss and plays for Switzerland FFS!! (although does have English blood in there, but he's also a bit sh*t)

I don't think everyone, or anyone, thinks they're that good anymore mate.

That's why some people are saying it might be their year... because for once they don't think it will be their year. Or something.

Makes sense.

Player for player, though. Especially the media.

I remember BBC saying in 2010 against Germany saying that Theo Walcott was better than Mezut Ozil and Jermaine Defoe was better than Thomas Muller. I just sat there thinking 'on what planet?'

Agree mate - i don't think anybody thinks we are good anymore. I hardly think France, Sweden or Ukraine were gutted having us in their group!! Overjoyed probably!

As for thinking this is our year...nope. The expectation thing is almost like reverse excuses coming already!!

Cheltenham Town, whatever lad.

And Sutter was born in England and was already playing regularly in Europe for Grasshoppers when he declared for Switzerland because he knew that was his best chance for international football.

But the point is, that English players abroad either have to go to the very best teams or disappear. Barcelona or Bayern can't buy everyone but going to Lille or Hamburg or Parma would kill their international careers.

I know his history mate - he's still sh*t!!

I remember yer mar saying "Ohh yes, more, more, now hit me" but sometimes you just shouldn't listen to everything people say.

Seriously though I know what you're on about, but maybe other nations do the same? I've never heard Dutch commentators talking about their players, German commentators talking about theirs and so on. I reckon they do something similar. It's probably just a natural extension of national pride.

But how do we know!? Hardly anyone does do to these teams. Its barely a handful.

If more players did the England manager would HAVE to take a look.

Joe Cole barely did a full 90 minutes for Lille this season, so didn't deserve to be there.

I'm so certain that if a large number of our top players played in Italy, Spain and Germany our national team would be better.

We'll probably never find out though.

5 players from liverpool in england squad shows how sh,t the squad is Henderson 38 games 2 goals
Downing no goals in the league Carroll less said the better.

Honestly can't believe Carrick Johnson Crouch and Richards arnt in for Henderson Downing Carroll and Johnson. Its absurd.
