It's hard to reconcile that lovely warm Sammy smile with him being a 'damaging' influence. If that's the case then fair enough, best he leaves, but I'll still look back on his time with fondness. He wasn't a flop, but wasn't a mega-success either.

Depends who's managing him aswell. No doubt he kept his mouth and opinions very quite under a figure like Jose. But under martinez I imagine he see's himself as the bigger name.

it wouldn't surprise me, shame its true. Why would he tell these players to stay at everton when he's played with the best, and knows what a top player is like. Players like Barkley won't be a top player at Everton, just as Rooney wouldn't have been, because they need to be playing alongside other top players.

I can totally understand why he's being let go if that is the case as it totally undermines team spirit, however true it is

This is definitely true as it was my mate who had been giving Eto'o banjo lessons since he's been here. Said he was always giving it the big I am and was asking my mate to teach him YNWA on the banjo which is the song he started to play during team talks.
