Sandro & Bolasie

It was a shambolic deal, giving a player yet to prove anything proper a world class wage. Also the reason why he's still with us.

Had the wages been normal I'd have agreed.
It was shambolic I agree, but only in retrospect. His performance at Malaga and the fact that he was almost on a free, made it appear a decent punt at the time. There have been enough bad ones at the time without the need to add this to that list. Having said that, history will judge the Sandro deal very harshly indeed.

Bolasie got that horrific injury and was rushed back far too soon. If not for that he'd have been a decent squad player, and he probably has the right to feel let down by the medical staff.

Sandro, just a weirdo of a footballer. Never seen someone fall off a cliff so badly in terms of performances for no obvious reason. Even Spanish media are mystified, they highly rated him as well.

A very good summary. I was absolutely gobsmacked at how bad he was when I watched him, it really knocked me for six. Didn’t see it coming at all.

He's not the worst I've seen, he's clearly got more ability than the likes of Stracqualursi and Niasse. Just he's at the wrong type of club in the wrong country. If he weren't on big wages I think people would actually feel sorry for him, it's a move that's been terrible for his career even though every time he has featured for us he's looked as if he really is trying. I still think one day somewhere he'll find a place where it just clicks for him again and he'll start scoring regularly. Probably in a minnows league but at least his career won't be viewed as a joke anymore.

I’m not sure this is true at all. He looks every bit as bad as both of them as a footballer. You say he’s in the wrong country but he’s been back on loan in Spain for the last 3 years and has scored about 3 goals in 60 games.

He can control a football at least, he can boast that unlike the other two.

La Liga is clearly too high a level for him. Somewhere like Portugal or Turkey, where the standard of play is largely rubbish but at least there's a competitive feel, would probably be places where he might thrive again. I hope it works out for the kid, no one at the club has a bad word to say about him and he obviously wants to leave instead of sitting on his contract.

Yet to see any evidence of this with my own eyes.

Sandro will continue to go out on loan to a progressively worse Spanish team each summer until his contract ends, at which point he'll need to find an even worse Spanish team than the one that loaned him last in order to receive a modest contract.

Bolasie will end up blagging himself a squad number on the back of performances in friendlies against teams that play at his natural level.

As well as the fact that they’re going to combine to play a part in football’s greatest comeback story this coming season, I found out something equally important about these two, tonight:

Combining “Bolasie” and “Sandro” gives you a perfect anagram of

NIASSE BALON D’OR

Bring him home, Carlo.
