he'll never go back to turkey.

he was on 12 grand a week at besiktas

hes now on 70k a week here for the next 3.5 years..

he wont be taking any pay cut to go anywhere.
He'd get decent cash elsewhere. Maybe not 70k, but easy 50k. I am sure he'd find an agreement where Everton pay 10k a week and he forfeits 10k. I don't get the impression he's a massive mercenary.

This lad will end up being loaned for the remainder of his contract to get at least *some* of his wages off the books each season before he's released.

Can't really kick the club over this particular one though. The lad was out of contract, had just had a decent season in La Liga and was in the Spain youth teams doing well.

He's exactly the same profile of player that we will be looking at signing again this summer and beyond. This one just didn't work.

The only failure on the club's part was having their trousers pulled down by his agent for his wages. Safe to say that those links to Atletico Madrid were probably weapons grade wham.

So what you're saying is, no blame attached to the club, except for the fact we're paying him a king's ransom in wages ?

The club were unfortunate for the most part. They're not psychic. We all thought he would be a great signing too. If you say you didn't you're a liar.

The club were had off over his wages. It was bad business but it happens. It wouldn't be as big of a deal if they hadn't had been had off by several other players coming in the door at the same time or just prior though.

I personally had never heard of him ; it's not much of a gamble with the wages we are paying him, more like they thought he was a certainty, ergo, the Club made a massive mistake and there's no getting away from that fact

Don't think he was out of contract mate, but he had a minimum release clause of 5.5m or something I think it was.
