I've heard that Valladolid have put the deal on hold.
Apparently they want to read all the Everton forums first to guage the fans opinions of the player.
We're doomed
Everton striker Sandro Ramirez is heading for another loan deal with Spanish side Real Valladolid in talks with the Merseyside club.
Ramirez was one of the high-profile recruits during Steve Walsh’s tenure as director of football, but he has been unable to make an impression since a £5.2 million move from Malaga in 2017.
He has spent most of his Goodison career on loan, enduring similarly unproductive periods at Sevilla and Real Sociedad.
La Liga remains the most likely destination for him this season, discussions taking place for another 12-month loan deal.
Ramirez is one of several players Everton are eager to offload as they remain in a tricky period where further significant investment in the side is difficult without shaving the squad.
Current director of football Marcel Brands was commended by his board over the past 12 months for reducing the costs on those surplus to requirements, yet there is still much work to be done to trim the playing staff and ensure contracts provide value for money.
The permanent signing of Andre Gomes from Barcelona for £22m is an encouraging start to this transfer window and Brands, alongside manager Marco Silva, has sought to bring more order to the club’s activity after what is now accepted as the haphazard approach and wastefulness of their predecessors. They are still repairing the damage and it will take a while longer.
Everton have spent an eye-watering £300m on new players since June 2017, recouping nearly half that from sales, yet the club is still counting the cost of the acquisitions prior to Brands and Silva’s arrival.
It will be another challenge for the duo to manage the budget while giving Silva the resources he needs to improve last year’s league performance.
Silva is eager for centre-back Kurt Zouma to follow Gomes in making last year’s loan a permanent contract. That is complicated by Chelsea’s transfer ban, the possibility incoming coach Frank Lampard will want to offer a fresh start to all his players and a potentially prohibitive asking price.
Everton are also seeking a left-footed midfielder to strengthen attacking options.
