Sack Sky and donate to GOT...donations are needed
I have developed a great regard for Stargate, it even takes the piss out of itself and its fans by interweaving put down epidsodes every so often enough to make the viewers think well its not real is it.

not really a big sci-fi fan as such, but there was a time ( back in the 70's ) when " Space 1999 " was a must see, you dont even have to be of a certain age as they are now being repeated on sky.
Dr Who ! does that qualify, as a kid the music alone was enough to put the shits up me.

Sorry Latch I'd rate Dr Who as one of the funniest, talking bins and people with odd shaped boxes on their heads with silly tubes coming out of them. That Torchwood was another joke

   , you've got a way with words mate, yeah i remember the Cybermen !

Star Trek TNG and Voyager were very good. I like the new Dr Who (the character), but find the storylines quite boring. The episode with Madame du Berry was very interesting though.

As for sci fi movies, the first two Alien movies were great. Star Wars from episode 3 onwards, also good.

I dont watch the new ones Blarg, much prefered the old ones, Cybermen, those half fish/half human, Daleks ( before they could walk upstairs  ), dodgy costumes, no budget but then again there was something about them, i guess i'm just feeling nostalgic !!

Star Trek the next generation with Captain Jon luc Picard excellent better than Shatner and the first in many respects. Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis both good watches. I grew up on Doctor Who and keep watching it here in the states. Battlestar Galactica new one is riveting at times with Ardama played by ex 80's Miami Vice cheif.

Latch big fan of Space 1999 but my favorite in that realm was UFO. Loved the Straker mobile. Liked Captain Scarlet animation from a couple of years back.

No one can touch the Star Wars original trilogy. The new ones were updated but lacked the innocence of the first ones. Lucas cashing in on the mulah.(y)

i'm the other way around Mike, much prefered Shatner, i guess i like " corny " acting and simple monsters !

that american broadcast of 'war of thwe worlds' we were played an episode in primary schools, my fear was tangable.

did watch some DS9, buck rogers, the original battlestar gallactica, when i was a kid a lot of sci fi was cartoons, like ulysees, and i recall seeing the lord of the rings animation as a kid as well. quality.

The old ones were classic. Patrick Troughton was my favourite doctor.

The two movies with Peter Cushing were fun too. I rmember seeing Dalek Invasion Earth 2020 (can't remember the exact year) and it had Bernard Cribbins in too. I guess I was only 7 or 8 and had nightmares about it for weeks after (which was great as I love nightmares). I've always found apocalyptic type scenarios the scariest genre.

Star Trek TOS hands down the best. The rest are just pretenders.

(Although I was a bit of a Space 1999 fan but as a little kid, some of the episodes were a bit scary.... )

The never seen aliens flew round in spaceships that bore a close resemblance to a flip top ash tray, a wobbling one at that...............come on TX

mentioned already but 'red dwarf' series 2 to 5, high comedy and brilliant writing.

tbh Suits most, like me, never think of RD as being sci-fi because the comedy was so strong but on reflection it certainly was, great call that mate.:)
