kryten was spock, even down to learning emotions and 'how to lie'

then there is another of the heavyweights, 'hitchhikers guide to the galaxy', again brilliantly written, the ideas like being in a place beyond time, and rock stars using a year of death as a tax break, its just so 'far out'.

favourite RD episode, 'gunmen of the apocalypse' followed closely by 'the despair squid'.

You know what they're showing in syndication here in the USA on one of the HD channels (even though it wasn't filmed in HD) was the old TV series UFO.

I remember that one as a kid as well and had a few of their Dinky toy models like the Interceptor and the SHADO Tank. Also had the obligatory UFO lunchbox.

Ahhh the good ole days.

You too Tx. I had a interceptor and Strakers car made by Dinky toys don't know were they are now though. I re watched all those UFO again on that same HD channel last year. I hoping Space 1999 will be next run on it.

Look out for those wobbly ash trays Mike. The Dinky toys, boxed, are now worth a fair bit of cash with some fetching £150+:dodgy:

Yeh I had Simon Templars the Saints car a Volvo i think and If I not mistaken the original James Bond silver aston martin made by corgi. I had a load of Britians hand painted soldiers too that I would dearly love to have back. Anybody do any Airfix modeling in their day?

Yes, mainly battle ships, Bismarck, Hood, Ark Royal, Turpitz, Graf Spey jeez I sound like a Nazi:lol:   Also did the aircraft, Halifax, Lancaster, Hurricane, Spitfire, Monsoon, Stuka. The trouble is with them once done they are virtually worthless, leave untouched and they zoom up in price, sort of defeats the object of the exercise in the first place really:sad:

bloody hell that takes me back Mike, used to love doing those air-fix as a kid, spitfires, hurricanes, not so keen on the ships and tanks though, always used to remember to paint the pilots after i'd stuck the bloody cockpit down!!

As a kid i enjoyed the " Clangers " anybody remember them ? that soup dragon scared the [Poor language removed] out of me.:P

All right !!!

Now we're talking...

Air Fix... I haven't heard that name in years. My friend and I used to buy the different armies that came in the box. Didn't paint 'em though, we just played "war" with 'em.

Also, Monty mentioning the Bismarck, Graf Spee, etc... reminded me of the old Avalon Hill bookcase games. I remember one called Bismarck but we mainly played Squad Leader and Panzer Leader. With all of those cardboard squares and the hexagonal grids on the game boards....

I don't even know if Avalon Hill exists anymore.

Good times, good times....

(Mike, I am surprised that Space 1999 isn't on anywhere in syndication right now. Even the SciFi channel doesn't have it running. Remember the episode with the octopus-like guardian that would suck people under it then spit them back out all burnt up like...?? That one scared the crap out of me when I was younger....)

Of all time? christ....

I do love my sci-fi but I guess I would say at the moment its Battlestar Galactica because of the original series and the new one together makes two great series'.

TNG is far superior to TOS except when it comes to the movies and there TOS winds hands down.
