Cast is a very touchy issue in the Indian subcontinent.
The absolute pelters China gets over anything and everyrthing but it's neighbours are rotten to the core over human rights and it never gets an airing - because they're part of the western gang.
I'd like to hear the usual China-baiters like @Zatara and @COYBL25 on this issue of India.

I think that the word he used was well out of circulation...by the 1970s!!
Usually people who use the term coloured are older, and actually think they're being PC, and, for some reason, it's wrong to describe black folk as black. It can be hard for older folk to keep up with all the nuances
I agree. It's not nastiness...in fact, in the heyday of its usage it was meant to be a way of pointedly avoiding the more coarse racist epithets.I'm an old timer. I've known for a long time black people found it unaceptable, but I couldn't tell you exactly when it became unnacceptable to use that term.
When people do use it, I find the majority of them aren't being nasty, they genuinely think that is the correct term to use, and are shocked at the reaction they get when they use it.

Are they angry at him or have they gone full Kopite and tried to defend him?
