Everything is pointing to Eddie Howe.

1.) Now Overwhelming bookies favourite to be next Celtic manager (1-3) (Jack Ross is 10-1)
2.) Fits the profile of the type of manager they need. Can build from the bottom up, can develop young players, young manager.
3.) Is available.

The only way I can't see them getting Howe, is if they come to their senses.
Fixed that.

I'm not familiar with everything to do with bankruptcy and the law, including starting a new company with a different legal name and ownership, when in effect it's the same club with the same players, the same ground and the same fans, but surely this one can be laid to rest now. Whether it's technically a new club or not hardly matters, as it is in effect the same one for all intents and purposes if not legally.

Other clubs who went out of business were classed as new clubs when they started up again. Supporters of Airdrie United, and Gretna 2008, know this only too well.

Clearly the money Rangers bring into Scottish football was deemed too important to risk losing by applying the same criteria to the plucky newco that was applied to Airdrie United, and Gretna 2008.

Effectively, all 3 clubs are the same club, but technically only TRIFC were allowed to assume the identity of the cub that went out of business.

Incredibly, after being granted this special dispensation to take on the identity of Rangers, instead of being grateful about it, their fans marched in protest to Hampden! I can't remember which load of Scheidt they made up for that one, probably the "We wurr illegully demotit tae the bottm tier" nonsense. they still come out with 'till this day.

Rangers had to apply to join the league, fact. They were eventually accepted into the 3rd tier of the Scottish leagues. Their fans keep whining about how they were demoted, or relegated, to the bottom tier, when they know that didn't happen.

As someone with pretty much no interest in Scottish football, I thought it was a dreadful decision to re-appoint Lennon after Rodgers left and I’m glad that Celtic are going to miss out on their 10 titles in a row because of it.

As far as I can see, it’s squarely down to the board for giving Lennon the job and it also makes the league slightly more interesting being a 2 horse race rather than a 1 horse canter.

Tbf for myself being a little more detached from the daily animosity between the two sets of supporters, the intricacies and nuances of the whole affair seem a little irrelevant now. Although I do know how past perceived sleights, injustices and grievances can live on amongst any fanbase of whatever club, including our own (Everton), for an eternity. Probably more understandable here considering the long history of animosity and bitterness between the two sets of fans.

The fact the plucky newco will win the title this season has nothing whatsoever to do with the point I made in answer to a post moaning about Rangers being demoted to the bottom league.

That didn't happen. You all know it didn't happen, yet you keep repeating over and over again hoping will magically come true.

It wouldn't be so bad if, after being allowed to assume the identity of Rangers, their fans didn't still whine about how badly the club (or is it the operating company?) were treated.

How does it get to the stage where you invent being demoted to the bottom league, then organise a march to Hampden in protest at the thing you've just made up?

I didn't come on here posting about how Sevco are a new club. I simply replied to this post about Rangers being sent packing to the nether regions of Scottish football. The weren't sent packing anywhere. They had to apply to join the league.

Nearly 9 years ago, Rangers were sent packing to the nether regions of Scottish football, but here they now stand, on the verge of being crowned champions of Scotland. Of course Celtic also played a part in their own downfall, with their arrogance bluster and self importance.

Of course it ain't over yet, but that potentially was the title clincher. But looking at it from my perspective, Everton despite yesterday's defeat have been in great form and Rangers are flying it. So apart from the covid situation, things are ticking along quite nicely.:)

Lennon's an embarrassing wet wipe, man would fit in perfectly across the park with his delusions. Celtic I think should see of O'Neill fancies coming for a swansong, he's their 2nd greatest manager ever and would bring the fans together. Gerrard in the summer should consider moving on for another challenge, he'll have achieved what he set out too and proved he's ready for a job in a serious league. If he's waiting on Klopp to walk away then he should pack his sandwiches, the German one loves being Kopite Jesus too much to give it up any time soon.

Oh dear. I've upset you, haven't I?

I've noticed pointing out facts to supporters of the plucky newco, after they've come out with insane lies, does tend to make them angry.

As for obsessed, have you posted about your own team this year, even once, or have you been focussing exclusively on Celtic? :coffee:
