Bearing in mind we were in the middle of a pandemic, I don't think the Celtic board did too badly with the amount of funds they released to the manager. It's the signings that have been poor.

It looks like Peter Lawwell wanted a manger who would be more of a yes man, and would accept any financial restrictions placed upon him. It would appear Lawwell had appointed himself as an unofficial Director of Football.

Rangers have shown how important coaching is. While they have some decent players there's not one remotely close to being in the class of Gascoigne or Laudrup etc yet they're galloping away with the title. Rangers look like a very well drilled outfit in which everyone know their job, while Celtic look like a side from the old days who have been told to just go out and enjoy themselves.

It's not so much Celtic's collapse that concerns me, as they will surely improve next season? What concerns me is Rangers consistency. If they are as consistent next season, it would take a campaign similar to the invincible season to get ahead of them, and those seasons don't come along very often.
Sorry mate but the pandemic has hit the rangers also.
Most Celtic fans agreed Lennon was the quick fix and nothing else.
But once again this insular Celtic thing has missed the boat.
And if you are saying it's all about coaching, god help if you take the cheap option again and promote from within.

I didn't say it hadn't. I said I thought the board had released a decent amount of funds in the middle of a pandemic.

I thought Lenny was the right guy at the right time for the remainder of the season when Rodgers left. I then wanted someone who would take the team upwards, not backwards.

I agree with you that Celtic took the cheap option in appointing Lennon as the manager, and it's come back to bite them. badly. having said that, the Celtic biard do run the financial side of the club in a fairly businesslike manner. TRIFC board? Not so much.

How about Roy Keane for the managers job?

Frank Lampard installed as second favourite behind Benitez to be next Celtic manager. Lawell's proabably looking up his family tree to see if he's got any Irish in him.

So could you please tell everyone what Roy Keane has done as a manager to deserve a shot at Sligo Rovers never mind Celtic, it was only last season you were touting Chris Wilder for the Goodison job.
Do you put names in a hat?
As a Shamrock Rovers fan I would not suggest Roy Keane to manage Sligo or even Evergreen here in Kilkenny.

You been on the Guinness mate?
After his playing stint at Celtic?

Clyde fc.....

Well he has more managerial experience, than what the fella at Ibrox had, when he was hired as manager. He also gave Andy Goram the famous Keane death stare, when Goram was introduced to him as his new United teammate. Im sure that incident alone, wins him a lot of brownie points with the Celtic faithful.

On a serious note unless the biscuit tin mentality goes and ridiculous amounts of money get thrown at him he probably wouldn't take another job on.
Assistant, maybe ,but fully in charge?
Not for me.
Lampard is available.........

So this is your reasoning for him becoming the new Celtic manager, I could say I'm lost for words but it falls perfectly in line with all of your previous suggestions for managerial positions, you'd be a hit as a judge on the masked singer.
