Peter Lawwell has run the club like an accountant. Celtic have lost out on players, John McGinn being one, because he tried to screw every penny out of the deal.

That may have worked when TRIFC were a poor side, but they're decent now and Celtic haven't been able to up their standards. In fact standards have been lowered. The only time Celtic have been a decent side is in Brendan Rodgers first season. As someone on the Huddleboard pointed out, we're constantly told we can't compete with English Premiership wages, apart from the CEO's wages that is.

Club 12 on the other hand are a shambles financially off the field, but they've got the football side of the company that operates the club spot on. The guy they got in from Southampton seems to get decent players for not a lot of money, whereas Celtics recruitment in the last couple of seasons has been woeful. The Sevco players are decent players, but not great, but they look a well coached side in which everyone knows their role in the team. They defend well, and play for free kicks around the opposition penalty area.

The newco are likely to spend six million on a player to go straight into the team, while Celtic are likely to spunk six million on players like Klimala, Bayo, and Amido Balde etc in the hope they land lucky with one of them.

Celtic did spend five million pounds on Barkas. Unfortunately, he makes Charles Hawtrey look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I can't believe anyone watched him and thought he was a good goalkeeper.
Brendan Rodgers is the best manager Celtic have had since the last century imo. I'm not disputing records of others or comparisons on titles etc. He was just a quality manager who could lift the likes of Leicester into top four challengers every single season. Leicester won the title but sank the following year but Rodgers pedigree show by doing it every single year.

I've referenced England because that's were you can see how he does in a competitive league against teams with far better resources and unlimited cash.

Glad to see your growing admiration for the champions but you're as clueless as your management team if you think Rangers whole style of play is to play for free kicks around the penalty box!
Think seperate entity fc have financial problems of their own tbh?
I know you're probably getting on a bit, but Who the feck is Charles Hawtrey ffs!!

Look who it is, Mr Personality.

Seperate Company FC players like Morelos, and Kent throw themselves to the turf anytime an opponent is in the vicinity to win free kicks. They make Harry Kane look determined to stay on his feet.

As for your final question, https://googlethatforyou.com?q=Charles Hawtrey

Manager way out of his depth, they really scraped the barrel for that manager.

Few years in the doldrums for Celtic, Rangers just look a better club on and off the field and have stability on the coaching side for a few years.

What's Martin O'Neill doing these days?
Wait, what? You think TRIFC are well run off the field?

I accept from the coaching side of things they are, but their finances are an absolute shambles. The company that operates the club has lost absolute fortunes every year, and, apparently is relying on loads of shares being issued for directors to buy.

As the ex-chairman of TRIFC is a career criminal, who managed to buy his way out of a South African prison sentence I wouldn't rule out dodgy dealing.

It would have been interesting if we'd have gone full blown for Brenda to see how blues fans would have reacted, though I don't honestly think he would have left Leicester to come here.
I do think he's money motivated and it would have been interesting if we'd have made him an offer he couldn't have refused.

Think you're getting confused with that team you used to support tbh.

Cheers for the link, good to have heroes I suppose! What was it that attracted you to him?

TRIFC supporters. They do hate, they do rioting, and they do bigotry, but they just don't do funny. :)

Out of curiosity, did that sound funny in your head?

I hope not.?

The guy deserves a chance. Wim Jansen arrived in 1997 and was described in The Daily Ranger as the second worst thing to hit Hiroshima. He lost his first two league games in charge of Celtic, but Celtic won the league and league cup that that season, with Rangers LEGNED Walters Myth winning nothing

Gordon Strachan lost his first competitive game in charge of Celtic 5 - 0 to Artmedia Bratislava. He then drew his first league game in charge 4 - 4 at Motherwell, and lost 3 - 1 at Ibrox a couple of games later. Celtic won the league comfortably that season by a mile, and Rangers 1872-2012 didnlt even finish second.

I do worry about managers who have their "philosophy" In my opinion, they can be fantasists who try to play Pep Guardiola's football with players who aren't Pep Guardiola's Barcelona quality, and it can turn out horribly.

TRIFC have a manager who has made them solid, they hit quickly on the break, and they play for free kicks in the oppositions half of the field. It would appear at the moment Gerrard is more of a realist than Ange, but, as I said, Postecoglou deserves to be given time. Gerrard won nothing his first two seasons. I can't see Ange being given this amount of time.

All i can say is that i think all non Celtic fans, are very much enjoying the banter years at Celtic Park.lol Whatever about his suitability for the Celtic job Ange Postecoglou certainly has decent taste, when it comes to picking aussie rules football teams to support. The guy just like most other greek australians is a massive Carlton fan.

It's hilarious that you actually believe that you are some sort of wit and that you're constant diatribe towards the champions is remotely interesting to anyone but yourself!!!
You just 'carry on hating'
